David S. Hipple
Co-Founder and co-ceo, bird dog laboratories
David S. Hipple is an exceptional business leader with over 30 years of experience in child-resistant package testing. He has worked closely with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) to ensure that testing standards evolve in response to changes in the packaging industry and global challenges such as pandemics. David is a graduate of Northwestern University's Advanced Respiratory Care Practitioner Program.
As Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Bird Dog Laboratories, David leverages his technical lab expertise, extensive network of pharmaceutical industry relationships, and strong business leadership to expand the company's testing services. Bird Dog Laboratories continues to provide critical testing to ensure the highest safety standards for packaging across industries.
David's career includes significant achievements, having served as CEO of Gene Miller Testing Services and Co-CEO of Bird Dog Marketing Group, LLC, a global leader in child-resistant package testing. He has been trained by some of the top experts in the field and has over 20 years of experience in USP<671> testing, which evaluates the functional properties of packaging systems for pharmaceuticals and dietary supplements.
Driven by a deep passion for safety, David is dedicated to protecting children and consumers by ensuring packaging meets the most stringent safety standards. Mark D. Perkins

Mark D. Perkins is a seasoned business leader with over 20+ years of experience in child-resistant package testing and a deep expertise in marketing, sales, and management. Holding an MBA from Lebanon Valley College and a bachelor's degree from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania, Mark's educational foundation has been pivotal in shaping his professional journey.
As Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Bird Dog Laboratories, Mark brings his strategic vision and business acumen to the company, leading the way in advancing testing services in the packaging industry. His extensive experience includes his role as C0-CEO of Bird Dog Marketing Group, LLC, a global leader in child-resistant package testing.
Mark has dedicated the past five years to working with USP <671> testing, leveraging his knowledge in the process and report writing to ensure the highest standards of compliance and quality. His passion for innovation and dedication to industry excellence continues to drive the success of Bird Dog Laboratories.
Abby Korman
Director of Laboratory Development
Abby Korman holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering and technology management from Millersville University. She joined Bird Dog Laboratories to use her knowledge of healthcare packaging and product development to expand package testing opportunities for our clients. As a Product Development Project Manager at Berry Global, she learned the testing requirements needed to ensure a safe and well-functioning package for the healthcare and pharmaceutical world. Abby is excited to learn more about our clients' testing needs and expand the lab's testing capacity.
